12.1 CLOSURE TIME

  • MARATÓN: at 14:00 at the El Refugio del Pilar refreshment station.
  • CLASSIC: at 12:00 at the El Refugio del Pilar refreshment station

Any participant who exceeds these hours will not be able to continue in the race, so when they are notified that they are out of it by a member of the Organization, the runner must hand over the chip and stop participating in REVENTON TRAIL EL PASO in any of its disciplines. In this case, the runner will be welcomed at the nearest refreshment point to take him to the finish line. However, if the runner decides to continue the path on its own, it would only be under his responsibility and having notified the Organization of his dropout and after handing the aforementioned equipment.

All participants will receive a chip that they must carry throughout the whole course until the end of the race or until it is withdrawn by a member of the Organization in case of dropout. The Organization will place checkpoints along the course of all disciplines to ensure that all runners complete the course and thus be able to record the arrival times at said checkpoints.

In case of dropping out of the race, the runner must COMPULSORILY indicate this to the Organization staff at the nearest check point or by contacting the Control Centre through the telephone number printed on the bib, and at the same time, he must hand over the control chip to the same staff of the Organization.

Once the competitor leaves the race, for whatever reason, they will cease to be a runner of the REVENTON TRAIL EL PASO, so they must return to the Start and Finish point by their own means. The Organization only undertakes the commitment to return any runner who has abandoned at the race closing check point located at El Refugio de El Pilar refreshmentstation, where a vehicle will be available to return said runners to the finish line. If the runner decided not to follow the instructions of the members of the Organization once they leave the race, everything that happens to said runner will be under their responsibility, since it will be considered that the athlete is no longer a participant in the REVENTON TRAIL EL PASO, having abandoned it or having been disqualified by the Organization.

All the participants must respect the environment in which the race is carried out and keep the environment scrupulously clean. In the different refreshment stations, athletes will find different bins where they can dispose of any container or waste that might be generated during the race.Throwing any kind of waste outside these bins will imply the runner’s disqualification.

The Organization of the race will guarantee the safety of the participants, providing for this the emergency measures and the necessary personnel in an event of these characteristics. The presence of duly identified official vehicles of the Organization of the race will be considered. In addition, medical and rescue staff will be available at strategic points along the course to intervene in case of need.

The course will not be closed to traffic, so the runner must respect the highway code and exercise extreme precautions when crossing the road or when arriving at a crossroads. The exact points of these road crossings will be covered by Organization staff and must be known by the runners.

At the checkpoints there will be staff who will ensure the safety of the runners. The control staff is empowered to indicate the conduct to follow at all times to the participants in case of objective dangers, change of itinerary, accident, dropout of the runner, etc. Ignoring these indications will be grounds for disqualification.

Likewise, for safety reasons as well as possible indications from the Organization’s staff in emergency or relief situations, the use of HEADPHONES is FORBIDDEN, resulting in the runner’s disqualification.

In case of bad weather conditions, for security reasons or other causes of force majeure, the Race Organization may make the decision to interrupt the race, modify the course or vary the time limits, always considering the safety and the safeguarding of the participants. In case of neutralization or interruption of the race, it will be classified according to the order and time of arrival at said neutralization point or, failing that, in the last control carried out before said neutralization.

In case of suspension or postponement of the event before its start for technical reasons attributable to the Organization, the fee amount that the Organisation has received by the registered athletes will be refunded. On the other hand, if the health, meteorological, Security reasons or other causes of force majeure communicated by the Competent Authorities force to suspend or postpone the sporting event to guarantee the safety of the runners, and having received the official communication from the competent institution, the Organization will be exempt from any type of refund of the economic amounts that the runner would have paid.

If an athlete incurs in the following actions during their participation in the REVENTON TRAIL EL PASO, the runner might be disqualified by the Referee judge.

  • The participant does not go through all the time check points provided by the
Organization throughout the course of the different Participation Disciplines
  • The runner does not deposit any waste originated by their participation in the
containers destined for such use in the vicinity of the regulatory refreshment stations, see: packaging of any type of food, organic waste from the refreshment stations themselves, glasses or other container of plastic or similar, sports equipment of any kind, etc.
  • The athlete does not help, during the race, another participant in any Participation Discipline who needs medical help or does not communicate it to the Organisation’s Security and Emergencies control station.
  • The runner does not carry all the mandatory equipment indicated in these Regulations, from the Start to the end of their Participation Discipline.
  • The participant does not complete the entire course on foot through the route marked by the Organization, which will be duly signposted and marked.
  • The athlete does not wear the bib number in a visible front part specified by the Organization or wears it modified. In this specific case, the members of the Organization may warn the runner of this incident, which will allow them to correct it. If this is not the case and if it is proved that said participant does not heed the indications of the members of the Organization, the runner will be immediately disqualified.
  • The runner is supplied by an external member to the race outside of the official refreshment stations provided by the Organization of the event.
  • The participant is accompanied for more than 50 meters by any person that is not registered as a runner in the REVENTÓN TRAIL EL PASO.
  • The runner uses HEADPHONES during the race.

The participants of the REVENTON TRAIL EL PASO always participate under their responsibility.
The decision to start and carry out the race rests on them. It is the responsibility of each participant to be physically prepared to perform a physical event of these characteristics.

The medical staff of the Organization of the race will have the power to remove the bib number from any runner if they consider that their health could be in danger when continuing in the race, with prior authorization from the race management.

The participants will exempt the organization from claims or demands based on alleged actions or non-actions of the participants or others who act on their behalf, as well as from claims resulting from damages that may happen to them or to their equipment. In the same way, the participant will exempt the Organization from any responsibility in case of injury and / or accident.
